Patriots for Gore PAC Calls On Kerry Campaign Rega

Patriots for Gore PAC Calls On Kerry Campaign Regarding 2004 Election
Auburn, Illinois: September 13, 2004
As chairperson of the PAC, Patriots for Gore, I, Jan Moore, make the admission that our PAC did not endorse John Kerry for President, and we stand by that decision today. We instead, endorsed Vice President and Peoples' President, Albert Gore Jr., the man who won the 2000 election, and the man who we believe possesses the necessary vision, experience, intelligence and courage to lead this nation during these extraordinary and dangerous times. However, as the Democratic National Convention asserted, John Kerry is the nominee for the Democratic Party and therefore, our only viable choice to defeat George W. Bush this November. Therefore, because our PAC is vehemently opposed to the destructive, warmongering, intolerant, unDemocratic Bush regime, and knowing that in order to preserve our nation's heritage and freedom that it must be defeated, we at Patriots for Gore also pledged that we would do all within our power to defeat this administration to bring this country back to sanity and Democracy.
They have led us in a premeditated and selfish exploit into a preemptive war that had been planned years before the terror of 9.11 hit us. They have then used that horrific experience to fearmonger for the last three years, and to gain political and economic standing for themselves. They then gave us more terror, war, fear, and death tied up in a package called the Patriot Act, Homeland Security, color wheels that really mean nothing, and Shock and Awe, which killed thousands of innocent civilians, but which has done absolutely nothing to stop the terrorism that pervades in this world. They have time and time again chosen the corporate way over the will of the people, our constitution, our environment, our health, our children, and our chance for a truly sustainable and peaceful future. They have also hidden their true intolerance for others under a veil of ,"compassionate conservatism" and nationalism that is anything but compassionate or patriotic. In short, they have failed us all miserably and are traitors to this country because of their lies to the American people which put their own interests before the good of this nation, which started with usurping the last Presidential election. Instead of being held accountable for all of this however, they have been rewarded. The reward for this treachery has been that they have been allowed to amass a huge campaign war chest of over one hundred million dollars and counting, to flood the airwaves with propaganda and stifle dissent. They have virtually gone unscathed regarding their lies to perpetuate this war in Iraq, the outting of Valerie Plame, a CIA operative, their secret energy meetings that included ENRON, their corporate associations which wrote the Medicare Bill, the Homeland Security Bill, and bills that despoiled our environment. Their attempts to weaken workers' rights, shift the tax burden, stack the courts with RW judges favorable to their agenda, abrogate any treaty that calls for adherence to international law, erode civil liberties, and to inflate the deficit to a never before seen level in American history for the benefit of their corporate benefactors at the expense of our children, have gone unnoticed by the masses who have been hypnotized with their doublespeak of fear, while real threats to our national security remain. Their constant beating of the drums of war is all that can be heard over the voices of people in this country speaking truth. It is time for their voices to be heard, and we call upon the Kerry campaign to start speaking up for that truth!

What is the point of being an opposition party when you offer no clear opposition on one of the most polarizing and important issues we have faced in the last year? Americans do not want a grudge match with the same back and forth sniping, he did this, he didn't do that, etc., that will leave the true base of our Party cold and Independents in a true quandary. We want to face head on the problems of this nation and demand that we have leadership that truly does set itself above the fray in doing the right thing and in not being afraid to vote that way and speak out. We want the truth. We also need to follow Spain's lead in seeing 89% of our registered voters come out to vote. We need to become a Democracy again. We need to bring our troops home from Iraq instead of using them as bargaining chips, sitting ducks, and political pawns. We need to fight terrorism by actually apprehending terrorists, and quelling the prevalence of future terrorism with world relationships that engender cooperation in productive and peaceful pursuits that bring people out of poverty, ignorance and desperation that lead them into terrorism. Not by making more terrorists by promoting poverty, ignorance and desperation, which is all you get from perpetual war. And most importantly, we need to hit this administration hard regarding the issues it does not want to discuss, because it knows it has nothing to discuss!
This press release from our PAC is then an urgent plea and request to the Kerry campaign to seriously begin to realize all we are sacrificing should we lose this election. We won't just be losing an election, we will be losing our soul as a nation. This is not just any ordinary campaign. What your campaign is up against, is unlike any organized assault ever known in the political world. The Bush junta is a powerful force which controls Congress, the White House, the Pentagon, and most importantly, the media, which for the most part has been a very willing accomplice in helping them weaken this Democracy through lies, trickery, propaganda and fearmongering. Their reach is long, and their methods are unscrupulous. They cannot be fought with conventional means, such as ads that do not inspire, promises that were made in every other campaign, or references made to topics like Vietnam that can be used to divert from the important issues of this day or turned against you. With less than two months left until this election takes place, the energy and electricity that should have been generated throughout this country to seek a change in the policies that have led us to more poverty, despair, terrorism and war are not there. While your campaign has spoken on "safe" issues, it has not come out with the ferocity that should have been employed from the very first day. The very methods used to install the Bush administration were unconstitutional. That cannot and should not ever be forgotten, because all that has been done in our names since that day has also been unconstitutional and done without a mandate from the American people, and they have not forgotten that!

We therefore, then call upon the Kerry campaign and the Democratic National Committee to assert itself in scheduling the upcoming Presidential debates and to not waver regarding conditions surrounding those debates. We also demand that George W. Bush agree to all debates in order to come before the American people to explain why he has continually lied to the American people, and then used his personal relationship with God to implement govt. policy, and use it as a scapegoat to not have to explain his reasons behind how and why his policies are carried out as they are, in direct antithesis to the will of the American people. We want these debates to expose this administration for their true motives, and we will not accept any debate which skirts these important issues on both sides. This administration has been tied into and affiliated with every corporate scam that has taken place in this country from ENRON to DIEBOLD, and it is time for some answers. The question of who did or did not serve in Vietnam thirty years ago while important, does not compare to the lack of service Bush has given to the American people these last four years, and the enabling he has received from many others. It is time to call him and this administration out on all of it. Our country 's future depends on it. Please consider this request and consider the consequences of continuing business as usual. There is no doubt the task before you is great, but if you take this on and truly bring forth truth, we at Patriots for Gore pledge that we will speak out for that truth with you.

I frankly think Kerry's advisers are too focused on playing it safe, instead of bearding the lion in the den, so to speak.
Time is running out, faster than anyone realizes. If Bush stays in office by hook or crook, we're going to have to work harder than ever to preserve our democracy and our future.
