Dan Rather & CBS Bruhaha

Here's what I posted on my blog at radioleft.... http://politicalmonitor.radioleft.com/blog/PoliticalMonitorEditorials
I urge everyone to voice support for Dan Rather and CBS. This is truly the first major rock the boat controversy we've seen in mainstream media for a long time, and the first time we've had a well established media news source that has had the courage to report on such a controversial topic.
This isn't a question of being pissy because of past reports that didn't do much more than walk lockstep with the rest of the right wing agenda. This is a question of speaking out for seeing the return of legitimate journalism to our televised media.
Dan Rather and his team of researchers worked for five years on this report, something you are NOT hearing from the naysayers. They dug, they documented, they interviewed, they went the extra mile to get this document and to research it and it's background.
While further investigation is seeming to show that this document may, indeed, be legit, the underlying issue is being hidden by the smoke screen of controversy. That issue is twofold...first, the documented fact that Bush was not present for duty,,,,second, that the rest of the right wing media wolves have not told the American people the truth, and have, in fact, buried the story beneath a barrage of Swift Boat vet lies that have been proven to be lies without the media admitting it.
The fact that Rather and CBS had the guts to even pursue this at all is worthy of recognition and support, therefore I urge everyone to let them know how important what they've done is. They are getting a barrage of freeper hate mail, and if we who bitch about the neocon dominated media do NOT speak out in support of legitimate journalism such as this, the money behind CBS will force them to listen to the freepers.
This is a chance for us to truly make our voices heard. Speak out now for a free press and unbiased journalism.
